HOLLANDER'S DEAL
by PETER MARK RICHMAN

Hollander's Deal It is 1948. Robert Rosedale is an ambitious 28-year-old and a recent graduate from the University of Pennsylvania. He faces a dilemma: continue his graduate studies and a life analyzing the GNP, or pursue a long-held desire, a career in the theater as a play producer. He opts for the latter when he overhears two old gentlemen discussing their lives while sunning on the Atlantic City beach.

Ben Meyer, impressed with Robert and his spiel, bankrolls the wunderkind to blossom on Broadway with a surprising hit. By this time, Robert has acquired all the accoutrements of his rapid success, including a lovely assistant, Dolores, his confidant and glorious bed partner.

Intrigued by the publicity of the play and its dynamic young producer, Hollywood starts a bidding war for the movie rights. Lucas Hollander, of Hollander films, makes an offer impossible to reject. The fact that Hollander has a daughter, Stephanie, designed by the Gods, had not been anticipated. However, things are seldom what they seem, and for Robert the realization hits with sledgehammer force, sexually, morally and philosophically. He is compelled to make a soul searching decision that will alter his life.

Reviewer: A reader from Los Angeles, CA United States

"Five minutes after you've picked up this novel, you'll be hooked. -It entraps you with interesting, multi-dimensional characters, a plot that has you wondering what will come next, conflict that makes for honest drama, and a vitality that illumines every scene. There's no doubt that the author's background as actor and artist infects every page.

Mr. Richman has an ear for dialogue, sometimes passionate, sometimes humorous, but always interesting, always keeping the story moving, always in character, always revealing. As an artist, the author has the ability to give verity to his scenes by vivid description that has both detail and coloration, makes time and place come alive.

And, of course, he knows the theatrical and motion picture world his characters inhabit. Rich in humor, in action, in steamy sex, in narrative drive, Hollander's Deal guarantees the reader a memorable adventure. My advice: Buy it!"

Reviewer: Connie Martinson, Beverly Hills Courier

"Peter Mark Richman has written a novel about the New York stage and Hollywood, which Peter Mark Richman definitely knows about. He also knows about small hotels and Atlantic City which is where the book begins in 1948.

Mr. Richman has written the real behind the scenes of the studio and the parties where deals are made and broken. The action in the book doesn't stop and the characters do ring true, especially Lois Hollander.

It's a good read for a rainy day."

Unless you've read one of his books, you haven't yet experienced a true storytelling master at work! I recently finished reading his short story collection, "The Rebirth of Ira Masters, " and I was completely blown away! In the title story, he takes you on a wildly imaginative journey that you will never forget. With vivid detail you'll be transported to places (and with characters) unlike any you've ever read before!

If you're looking for a read that's exceptionally unique, this is it!

To be honest the book is almost indescribable! You simply must read it..but I promise you three things. (1,) you'll be shocked, beyond belief (2,) you'll be amused in a completely new way, and (3,) you'll be writing to Mr. Richman begging him for more!"

Reviewer: Connie Martinson, Beverly Hills Courier

Peter Mark has the actor's gift for writing good dialogue and some of these stories lend themselves to further development as either novels or screenplays."
